Fayanza folds a payout board, a wild card, a full hand of poker, and a card-shedding race called the Run into one long night of chips changing hands. Four to twelve players. One survivor.
“A game of cards, chips & chances.”
Fayanza plays out across ten payout spaces feeding a center pot, a wild card you have to know when to spend, a standard poker hand, and a card-shedding sprint called the Fayanza Run. Regular play keeps going as long as four players can still afford the ante. Once it's down to three, the table moves into the Fayanza Finale to crown one Champion.
This is the board all four phases play out on: ante into it, win Poker on it, race across it in the Fayanza Run.
Check your chips, ante into all ten payout spaces, and the Dealer deals the whole deck, plus one unseen Extra Hand. A few payouts can already hit before Poker even starts.
Dealer acts first. Stay in, raise, match, or fold: standard poker hands, straight from the cards you were dealt.
The poker winner picks a suit and plays low. Everyone races to empty their hand before a Stop changes the color.
Three or fewer players left ends regular play. Two or three fight the Finale; one player walks away Champion.
Every round antes into all ten before a single card gets called:
Every deck needs a wild card. Ours has a name. Grandma Fay is the Joker in Fayanza, a nod to the woman whose kitchen-table card game started all of this.
Fayanza began as a memory: a card game grandma played with the family, the kind that only ever existed in her kitchen, passed down by word of mouth instead of a rulebook. Fayanza is the new game built from that memory, with its own twists, inspired by the games I grew up playing with grandma, then turned into something new for today's families. Grandma Fay is simply the heart of where it all started.
She's also the trickiest decision in the game: take her payout the moment she's called, or pass and save her to complete a bigger combination later. Wait too long, though, and once Poker begins, an unused wild card goes cold in your hand for the rest of the round.
